Depending on your type of organisation your governing document might be called; 'the constitution', 'the memorandum and articles of association', 'the trust deed' or 'the rules'. If you do not have a governing document and would like help with this, please contact: Communitydevelopment@argyll-bute.gov.uk

Types of groups or organisations may include:

  • Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisations (SCIO)
  • Social Enterprises and other Not-for-profit (NFP) organisations
  • Community Interest Companies (CIC) with no private benefit
  • Community Housing Trusts
  • Partnerships made up of any of the above groups

Individuals cannot share project proposals on Aspiring Places unless they are doing so on behalf of a community-based group or organisation working in Argyll and Bute that has a governing document.

  • Aspiring Places is a space for sharing information about project proposals. It is not a space where groups and organisations can apply for funding directly.

17. What happens if multiple groups propose projects that are placed in the same location on the project map or wish to make use of the same land, building or asset?

  • The place marker on the Aspiring Places map of project proposals shows where the group or organisation would like to carry out their project. It does not necessarily mean that the group owns any land, building or asset in that location.

  • The Council does not undertake to manage conflict between groups or organisations arising from their participation in Aspiring Places.

  • Many funding bodies encourage collaboration between groups, especially where that prevents duplication of effort. For that reason, groups or organisations who are looking to deliver projects that would involve the same plot of land, building or other physical asset may wish to consider exploring opportunities to work in partnership.
