About the 2030 Empty Property Business Grants

The Vacant Business Rates Fund is designed to support local communities by utilizing funds generated from vacant business rates. This initiative aims to reinvest these resources into the development and revitalization of administrative areas, fostering economic growth and community well-being.
Funding Allocation: Each of the four designated administrative areas will receive a funding pot of £125,000. This allocation is intended to address specific local needs, including but not limited to:
- Economic Development: Supporting local businesses, attracting new enterprises, and creating job opportunities.
- Community Projects: Enhancing public spaces, funding community events, and improving local amenities.
- Infrastructure Improvements: Upgrading transportation networks, utilities, and public facilities to better serve residents and businesses.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Promoting environmentally friendly practices and projects that contribute to long-term sustainability.
Eligibility Criteria: To qualify for funding, projects must demonstrate a clear benefit to the local community and align with the fund's objectives. Applications will be reviewed based on their potential impact, feasibility, and sustainability.
Application Process: Interested parties can submit their proposals through the designated online portal. Each application will be evaluated by a panel of experts, ensuring that funds are allocated to projects that will make the most significant positive impact.
