About the fund
Funding is allocated based on net revenue generated by the Scottish Crown Estate from marine assets out to 12 nautical miles. Payments are made in arrears, once Crown Estate Scotland’s annual accounts have been finalised. Allocations in 2029 to 2030 are based on revenues generated in 2024 to 2025. The amount each council receives is based on a distribution method agreed by the Settlement and Distribution Group, comprising Local government, CoSLA and Scottish Government. The formula takes into account the total sea area in the 0-12 nautical mile zone adjacent to each council and the revenues raised from marine assets within 0-12 nautical miles in each council area. This is the sixth round of payments to councils. Councils are responsible for ensuring projects deliver value for money.
In 2029-30, Argyll and Bute Council was awarded £1,818,714.93
