1. What do you want to do?

We plan to implement the Islay Roads Scheme, a comprehensive infrastructure project aimed at upgrading and expanding the road network on Islay. The project will include resurfacing existing roads, constructing new routes, and improving signage and safety features.

2. Why is your project needed?

The current road infrastructure on Islay is inadequate to meet the needs of residents, businesses, and tourists. Poor road conditions and limited connectivity hinder economic growth and accessibility. The Islay Roads Scheme will address these issues by providing a safer, more efficient road network.

3. What positive changes will your project bring about?
  • Economic Development: Improved roads will facilitate the movement of goods and services, supporting local businesses and stimulating economic growth.
  • Enhanced Safety: Upgraded roads and better signage will reduce accidents and improve overall safety for drivers and pedestrians.
  • Tourism Boost: Better road conditions will make Islay more accessible and attractive to tourists, boosting the local tourism industry.
  • Community Benefits: Residents will benefit from reduced travel times and improved access to essential services and amenities.
4. How long will your project run for?

The project is expected to run for approximately 24 months, from initial planning and design to construction and final completion. This timeline includes securing permits, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and sustainability are met.
